
Dr. Christoph Westenrieder has been an associate at maat since March 2026. He studied law in Augsburg and Budapest, focusing on labor law at both locations. Following his studies, Dr. Westenrieder worked as a research assistant and doctoral fellow of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) at the Chair of Prof. Dr. Martina Benecke at the University of Augsburg; he earned his doctorate with a thesis on a topic concerning European works council law. He subsequently completed his legal traineeship in Munich, with placements at leading commercial law firms in Munich and London, focusing on labor law and mergers & acquisitions.
At maat, Dr. Westenrieder primarily advises small, medium-sized, and large enterprises on all aspects of individual and collective employment law. His practice focuses on the structuring and termination of employment relationships, providing employment law guidance during corporate restructuring, and collaborating with works councils.
